2006: Mike Armstrong came into the 2006 campaign as an untested player. He finished the season as the First Team All-Atlantic Sun Designated Hitter. Mike had a breakout year. He finished in the top-five in every offensive category for the Bears in 2006. Armstrong played the game with poise, maturity, and discipline at all times. His best night of the year came against Gardner Webb at Claude Smith Field on April 26. Mike hit two home runs and a double with five RBI in a 10-3 victory. Mike was was named A-Sun Player of the Week (4/26), Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team, and Academic All-American.
2005: Mike played sparingly as a freshman at Mercer. He received three Varsity at bats hitting .333 with one RBI. Armstrong played quite a bit for the Bears junior varsity squad in the fall gaining experience that would prove crucial to his development. Mike was named Academic-All Conference in 2005.
